Modern bathroom vanity with brass faucets and double mirrors

This bathroom hadn’t been touched since the 90s, and it showed. The original space felt dark, crowded, and dated, with a small enclosed shower, heavy finishes, drop in tub and very little warmth. It was definitely ready for a major refresh. Our goal with this 90s bathroom remodel was to keep the footprint the same, but completely transform how the room looked and felt.

We started by opening up the shower and giving it a cleaner more open layout. It now draws your eye directly to the patterned tile that adds detail and interest without overwhelming the space, and the built-in niches provide necessary storage. The freestanding tub was a big moment in the redesign, we added an arch to frame the space. It replaced the drop in tub of the original layout and instantly made the room feel more inviting. The natural light around the tub is beautiful, and the softened lines make the whole space feel calmer. A new cabinet design features additional storage, linen closet, hamper, and electrical for charging and hair tools.

Warm metal finishes played a big role in bringing this room into the present. The updated plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, and mirrors create a cohesive look that feels both current, elegant and classic. Soft neutrals, layered textures, and simple styling gave the bathroom a polished spa atmosphere.

For homeowners thinking about their own 90s bathroom remodel, this project is a great example of how a space can completely transform even when the floorplan stays the same. If you’d like to see more of our residential work, visit our Residential Services page:
