As a designer, I love to stay current with the changes in trends of materials and finishes we specify to clients. With tile having so many on trend options, it is easy to find the perfect tile product for any project. Prosource, in Maumee, has many tile selections for flooring and backsplash that are constantly evolving, among many other products. Every time we visit Prosource, I discover a new product that inspires me. I especially love their collection of faux-wood tiles.
With the recl
aimed wood look and wide-plank wood flooring being a preferred style by many, faux wood tile is a great alternative to a typical wood floor. Prosource offers a wide variety of wood-looking tile that is great for areas that collect moisture. Faux wood tiles are often used in bathrooms,
mudrooms and basements to achieve the same desired look of wood in a way that is more practical for the space. Faux wood tile can also be used to make a statement as an accent wall in a bathroom, as it is fairly easy to install.
Mosaic tiles are another trend that I’ve spotted while searching through Prosource for different projects. These small and patterned groupings can add dimension and texture to a space to create a feature and statement. Within Prosource’s selection of mosaic tile there are a variety of unique sizes, shapes and colors that can help to achieve anything from a beautiful flower-inspired backsplash to mimicking the Pinterest famous
“penny floor”. The possibilities when using mosaics are endless as you can shift and shape them to accomplish nearly any look within your design.
My knowledge for design is always growing as a design assistant. Having the opportunity to visit vendors such as Prosource gives me hands-on experience with the products and allows me to get to know the great people who we work with every day as designers.
