aging in place & senior living

RCI Interior Design has specialized in creating well-planned, resident-centered environments for senior living communities and aging-in-place projects for more than two decades. With more than 2,000 completed projects across residential, senior living, and small commercial settings, RCI brings a deep understanding of how design affects safety, mobility, independence, and everyday quality of life.

Our work includes assisted living, independent living, downsizing support, and private in-home aging-in-place design. Whether we’re redesigning a community space or helping a senior safely transition to a new home layout, our focus remains the same: practical decisions that support the needs of older adults while maintaining warmth, comfort, and dignity.

Safety First
Every design is rooted in practical function — visibility, lighting, mobility paths, supportive furniture, slip-resistant materials, and appropriate heights and clearances.

Comfort & Familiarity
We create spaces that feel like home, not institutions. Warm materials, soft textures, and intuitive layouts help residents feel settled and supported.

Durability & Maintenance
Products are selected for their longevity, cleanability, and real-world performance — essential for assisted living, memory care, and high-traffic environments.

Accessibility
We design with ADA standards and aging physiology in mind, making sure spaces remain usable and comfortable as needs evolve.

Collaboration with Staff & Families
Rose works closely with directors, caregivers, facility managers, and families to understand workflow, safety concerns, and resident needs.
